About this Event

Youth Expo is an annual event hosted by the Youth Ministry which gathers youth aged 11 and up for a day filled with sessions, activities, fellowship, prayer, and adoration. It is a great opportunity for youth to meet other like-minded individuals in a fun, faith-filled setting. Youth from any parish is welcome! This year, the theme is "Dreamers" drawn from the quote by St. Pope John Paul II, “It is Jesus in fact that you seek when you dream of happiness.”.

Registration is open NOW! Registration officially closes on Thursday, June 27. Be sure to register before then to guarantee your t-shirt. Register below to save your spot!

Mental Health: What AM I Looking For Anyway?

Led by Leah Bittante

How often is it that our negative thoughts cloud the dreams that we have for ourselves? When we fall into self-destructive tendencies and lose our sense of self-worth, we forget the big plans that God has for us. In this workshop, we will explore our identity and our real needs and how understanding all of this can help us find genuine peace and joy, and grow in deeper trust and love of the Lord.

The Temperaments and Sainthood

Led by Eldrick Dizon

In our uniqueness, sainthood may seem hard to achieve. We might see saints as the ultimate holy people, and that we can’t attain their level of holiness. But in reality, there is no cookie-cutter way to be a saint. God made you unique, and He made each of the saints unique too! Saints were people just like us, with their own temperament. Find out which saint you share a temperament with, and understand how you uniquely grow in these qualities and how to use as you should — the temperament God gave you.

God's Dream for Our Vocation

Led by Albert Remoroza and Camille and Michael Mendoza

God has a dream for each and every one of us, and that is our vocation! In this workshop, we will hear from individuals from different vocations who are at a variety of points in their discernment of their vocation. Through their stories, we will explore how we can discover God’s call for us, and come to understand that by following God’s plan for us, we are able to fulfill dreams that surpass anything we could ever imagine on our own!

Living and Dreaming Intentionally

Led by Rave Quidasol

Have you ever been so motivated by an online influencer’s aesthetic lifestyle that you wanted to get up and change your entire life around right then and there? Or what about starting that gym routine that you’ve been telling yourself to get on? Or that prayer routine you’ve been promising yourself to commit to? This workshop focuses on how we can bring our dreams to life in a way that is intentional to Christ and our human nature.

Wonder and Awe Through Art

Led by Ginger Umali

The Catholic Church is no foreigner to the God-given gift of art. From the works of Michelangelo to St Catherine – the patron saint of art – the Catholic Church embraces and nurtures the call God has for artists. Learn how we can harness our artistic talents to share God’s love and bring others closer to Him through our artwork!

Blue Skies in Stormy Clouds

Workshop Leader coming soon!

When we look around at the world around us, it can be tempting to focus on the struggles, the suffering, and the darkness. At these times, it can be difficult to see the point in looking forward to a future or looking at the bright side. However, as Catholics, we are called to live lives of hope. In this workshop, we will explore how we can have an outlook of hope during times of desolation and trials.

Here are the sessions for Youth Expo 2024!

Session 1: Dream Big

Led by Dareen Mendoza (Full Time Pastoral Worker with CFC-Youth)

In today's world, there is a lot of hopelessness which makes it difficult for us to live with hope, and look forward to the future. However, this isn't what Jesus intended for us. When we think of how kids dream, they have hopes to be anything they want to be. This is how we were made to be, but the world around us holds us back. We have to reclaim our identity as dreamers and in doing so, we can live lives fully alive with Christ.

Session 2: Be Bold

This session will explore the reasons why we find it easy to "just do it" or be courageous in our everyday lives in the secular world, but struggle when it comes to committing to live life with Christ who promises us only goodness and life. In session 2, we will discuss why we find it difficult to surrender our lives to Jesus, and how we can combat these fears in order to pursue the lives that God has personally designed for each of us. We need to be unafraid to dream and let the Holy Spirit lead us towards Heaven.

Session 3: Whatever It Takes!

Led by: Faye McCreedy (Youth Ministry Coordinator at the Archdiocese of Vancouver)

The dreams of those before us remain an inspiration to us now. The realities of our dreams means acknowledging the difficulties, the stakes, and the fact that we can’t do it alone. The good news is, that we are not alone, and God is doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to prepare us and make our dreams a reality.
